The Utah Team Penning Association (UTPA) welcomes you! Please join us for the ultimate kind of excitement - team penning and sorting. The smell of leather, hay, and livestock; the sounds of cattle mooing and horses whinnying; and the rush of riding at breakneck speed down the arena while sweeping three head of cattle into the pen in record time.....this is truly what fun is!
UTPA a not-for-profit organization with a focus on creating an outlet for those who enjoy the sport. Members from across the mountain states come together monthly for friendly competition. With a payback of 50 - 70% in the various divisions, riders earn not only money, but also valuable points. Year end prizes, included the coveted saddle, are awarded at the annual banquet and dinner. If you are looking for a way to develop your passion, look no further and join the Utah Team Penning Association today!
And the new team penning season is quickly heading down the strech. Stop #4 in the 2012 Show Season is at the Western Park Event Complex in Vernal, Utah. This shouw is put on in conjunction with PDQ, the sorting club located in the Basin. The UTPA web site continuously undergoes re-vamping, tweaking, and upgrades. Please send an e-mail to the webmaster if a link does not appear to work, information is missing, or you would like to see something added to the site. Let us know what you think! After all, this is your club and your voice deserves to be heard.
As a reminder, ratings have been updated to reflect a rider's 2011 performance. Rules have been reviewed and updated, per the results of the Membership Questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire have been posted - please check them out. Remember, if you don't like the rules give the UTPA board your feedback. Be sure to read the 2012 Rules! A few things have been revised - i.e. the number of shows and point calculations. Any questions, holler at the Board.
